Is Atheism a Religion?

For Atheists to attempt to claim "neutrality", in reference to God, is a complete lie and disingenuous intellectually. They have in fact picked a side. They choose their religion based on what they believe is evidentiary to their presuppositions. The belief system is based on their faith that there is no God.

A religion doesn’t have to contain a god who must be identified or worshiped. Some religions are polytheistic (Hinduism, Mormonism), some monotheistic (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), some non-theistic (Buddhism). I’d say the new atheists and their religion are “anti-theistic.” But their atheism is religious nonetheless.

They have their own worldview. Materialism (the view that the material world is all there is) is the lens through which atheists view the world. Far from being the open-minded, follow-the-evidence-wherever thinkers they claim to be, they interpret all data ONLY within the very narrow worldview of materialism.

They have their own orthodoxy. Orthodoxy is a set of beliefs acceptable to a faith community. Just as there are orthodox Christian beliefs, there is an atheist orthodoxy as well. In brief, it is that EVERYTHING can be explained as the product of unintentional, undirected, purposeless evolution. No claim is acceptable if it cannot be subjected to scientific scrutiny.

They have their own prophets: Nietzsche, Russell, Feuerbach, Lenin, Marx. They believe that these guy's had all the answers.

They have their own preachers and evangelists. And are they ever “evangelistic.” Dawkins, Dennett, Harris, and Hitchens are NOT out to ask that atheism be given respect. They are seeking converts. They are preaching a “gospel” calling for the end of theism.

They have faith. The existence of God cannot be proven or disproven. To deny it takes faith. Just as believing in God takes faith.

Atheism relates to a belief in the existence or non-existence of a deity, or whether the person associates any meaning to the terms "God" or "deity."

Atheism is defined as: a : a disbelief in the existence of deity b : the doctrine that there is no deity.

It is a belief system with it's own doctrine. It comes with the the philosophic difficulty of proving a negative—God does not exist—and in order to shift the burden of proof to the theist, since the theist is making the positive affirmation that God exists.

there are various sects of atheism. There is a vast difference between the friendly atheist who lives next door and the activists. Generally, even the activist types who are typified by the New Atheist movement will define “atheism” as a mere lack of belief in God. However, their activism demonstrates that their atheism is anything but mere lack: lack of belief in God. it is an anti-“religion”, anti-“faith” and anti-“God” movement.

The activist atheists consider belief in God as dangerous superstitious ignorance and seek to abolish it or, at the very least, remove it from the public sphere (public meaning from politics, culture at large, etc.) Evolution is an important [art of the doctrine of atheism. Evolution is promulgated as an ideology, a secular religion—a full-fledged alternative to Christianity, with meaning and morality … This was true of evolution in the beginning, and it is true of evolution still today.

Did you know that there is a trend among many atheists, particularly the New Atheist sect, where they define parents raising their children according to their own faith in God as “child abuse? This is a serious form of of radical atheistic fundamentalism. It is a way they are trying to open the door to persecute those that believe in God.

Yes Folks, Atheism is a religion and it has become a state sanctioned religion in the USA. Whatever happened to the first amendment?

Practicing the Presence of God

What is practicing the presence of God? It is being continually aware of God’s presence through out our day’s and nights. So intensely personal and so passionately in love with you is our Heavenly father that he is with you continuously every moment every day, eager to respond to your prayers and praise. You mean everything to him. If you struggle to believe this, I understand. The intensity of God’s personal love and devotion to you is so mind-boggling. Begin the long journey to grasping the magnitude of this truth by remembering the torturous death the Lord of glory willingly suffered, just to be on intimate terms with you.

God welcomes each of His children with open arms. He makes no exceptions. He has no exclusions. The greater the sinner, the wider are His arms open to His child. Our Father wants us to know Him.

So why for hours at a time do we daily ignore the most precious person in our lives? Why is it that, often despite our best intentions, we rob our Lord and ourselves of priceless privileges by pushing the most astounding person out of our consciousness for hours at a time? He never leaves our side and yet our mind is continually wandering away from him, not only ignoring him but actually forgetting that he is even there.

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus. . .

2 Corinthians 10:5 . . . we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Psalms 34:1 . . . I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. KJV

Psalms 71:8. . . Declaring your splendor all day long.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually

Of course, for each of these themes there are numerous supporting references scattered throughout the Word of God.

These scriptures provide us with a multitude of reasons for practicing the presence of God. Not only are these reasons for us trying: they are reasons for believing that we can achieve this goal. God clearly wants it, since he has emphasized it in the Bible, and if the Almighty wants it, he will t empower us to achieve it.

Why should we practice the presence of God?

One of the most staggering and life-changing statements in the Bible is Jesus saying about himself, “I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.”John 5:30

Let the impact of those words shake you to the core. If the eternal Son of God could do nothing without Our Father God, how great our moment-by-moment dependence upon God must be! Life is just too complex for any sensible person to dare attempt the tiniest task without involving God.

Through out the Word of God are many streams related to continually reminding ourselves of God’s presence.

I’d like you to read two Scriptures with new eyes:

Numbers 15:38-40. . . Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments, with a blue cord on each tassel. You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the LORD, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by going after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes. Then you will remember to obey all my commands and will be consecrated to your God.

Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  2 I will say of the LORD, He is]my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Living in the presence of the Most High  gives us the safety and sovereign protection of the Almighty God  which is a security that compares to nothing on earth.

Wise Words

We must remember that God loved us first, and that our religion is truly a love affair between God and us, us and God; it is not merely a system of morals and dogmas.

What is the result of sin? Do we really understand?

Of course most of us know that sin can actually bring pleasure for a moment, but is it worth the misery it also causes? As an obvious example, you may have pleasure in cheating on your spouse but look at the misery it has caused by tearing apart your family.

The ultimate result of sin the destruction of your relationship with God. In this life we can choose to repent of our sin and restore our relationship with God. What happens if we don't? If we want to live our life independent from God we must remember that it will culminate in separation from God for all eternity. Nobody is forced to choose God. Nor are we forced to choose eternity without God. No one suffers this fate by accident.

We all have the free will to determine our ultimate destiny. We will live our lives according to our own sinful lusts and greed or will we turn to God for forgiveness and restoration. We will be the ones who ultimately choose whether our eternity is going to be spent with God in Heaven or separated from God and cast into hell. It is all up to us. We have free will to accept or reject the gift of salvation that is offered to us in Jesus the Christ.

Remember that God loves you so much that he sent His Son to endure your punishment that you would have the opportunity to choose eternal life with Him

Any friend of God’s is an enemy of the devil.

As Satan moves to and frow across the earth seeking whom he may devour, God is constantly seeking to draw us closer to the safety that waits in the shadow of the Almighty. He wants us to come to him for protection from the one whom seeks to destroy all that God loves and cares for.

There is a battle occurring for the hearts and minds of all angelic and human beings.

Satan wants to make you doubt whether God cares at all for you and whether or not He even exits.

Satans rebellion began before the concept of time and continues even now. He desires to turn all of us away from God that we might worship him.

To many of us are willing victims of the wiles of the ancient evil one. Our own lusts rule over us if we do not stay close to our Creator.

We willingly walk to edge of the abyss by serving our fleshly desires instead of God and Satan just gives us the final nudge.

As we fall completely into the degradation of sin, Satan rejoices because he has caused sorrow for Our Heavenly Father who loves us. His whole purpose in destroying us is to cause pain and sorrow to Almighty God. He is the enemy of God and therefore the enemy of all of Gods creation. If we are Freinds of God We are to be the enemy of Satan. We fight against his shemes and deceptions. If we go along with Satans plans , We then have joined his team.

What can we do about defeating this enemy?

Submit to God.

Amazing Love - Hillsong - Michelle Fragar

Do We Really Love God?

You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. If we love God we will choose His way.

God loves us all, but most people do not really love God. If we do love God we will obey his commandments.

Jesus has told us in the John 14:15; “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”

As we go about our daily lives, are we loving God in our thoughts words and actions? Or maybe we are just doing things our own way. fussing and fighting, drinking and smoking, watching trash on t.v. with not one concern about the world around us that’s lost and on a thrill ride straight to Hell? God can see in our hearts and mind. He knows what we really are about but He loves us any way. Do we love God? Do we love Him enough to obey His intructions and his commandments?

A daily inventory is one way to find out. Did you go to work with a positive attitude? did you do your job to the best of your ability? Did you treat your parents with honor and respect? have you shown love and caring to your brothers and sisters? What about others that have come across your path? Have they seen the Love of God sining forth from you? Have you taken time to talk with God today? Have your thanked him for his many blessings? Have you rested in his love for you? Have we accepted the work of the cross? Have we relied upon Gods great Love and salvation today? If we can say yes to these things we have loved God today and then when tomorrow comes we must practice loving Him again. Are we always going to be perfect? NO! But if we truely want to obey God, we will confess our sins to Him and He will be faithful and just to forgive us.

If you love me, keep my commandments
